One month

So, little Lucie is already a month old. I can't believe how fast the time flies! She went to the doctor this  morning for her checkup.  9lbs 1 oz and 22 inches long!. She has already grown out of her newborn sized onesies and her days in newborn diapers are numbered.

We are quickly learning what baby items are totally worth it, and which ones really aren't...

The number one baby item we love (because Lucie loves it) is the Fisher Price Rock N Play. We bought it on sale in a moment of desperation after 5 days when our baby wouldn't sleep flat. It's lightweight, portable, and I'm not worried about her rolling over all of the time.

We also ended up getting a Samsung video monitor after-the-fact. We thought we'd be ok just listening for her, but this way we can check to make sure she's ok without going in her room. Plus theres an iPhone app, so we can check to see if she's still sleeping while away! It was totally hard to set up, but totally worth it.

The next item we bought after the fact is pretty goofy--- those rear view mirrors for your baby. You think you would know if the baby is asleep but, not always. I like this because it is really easy to check on her in the car.

There are too many other things to mention that we love, including her carseat, the JJ cole bundleme that goes into it , The swing, The pacifier clip, and the PB Kids Halo Swaddle Sacks. There were a couple things though, that Lucie just didnt take to.

The silly green pacifiers. You know the one, the Avent Soothie. The hospital recommended  these, but she never would suck on it for very long. She really likes a different Avent pacifier. Its smaller and more traditional looking. She wont take any of the other brands we've tried--- Nuk, etc. Not sure why, but she cant live without her one pink "sucker."

The Boppy.... Grrr. I hate it for nursing. It wont stay up and the baby slips through the crack. We have had much better luck with the My Brest Friend (dumb name) pillow. I only wish I had gotten it sooner!

The pampers diapers... I can't say she didn't take to them, she didn't care. But I prefer the Huggies diapers because they are more pliable and seem to cause fewer blowouts. The Huggies wipes are more moist too. I do appreciate the blue line on the diaper to tell you when its soiled! Who knew that existed...

Lucie gets more and more alert each day. She is currently in a phase where she studies everyones' faces and loves looking at her black and white patterned toys! She also wants to roll over..... yikes. Her only obstacle is her head!

She also has been giving us at least a three and a half hour stretch each night. A lot of nights she's getting close to a 6 hour stretch of sleep! And she's big enough now that we don't have to waker her up :) Whoo Hoo ---Makes me happy!
